Where can I use HomeComm Chat?
You can use the HomeComm Chat from anywhere in the world with a browser and Internet access. HomeComm Chat will work with almost any browser, including Netscape and Internet Explorer versions 2.0 and higher. However, we work best with Internet Explorer 5.0.

Help with signing-in and registration
Users can have access to Chat, Mail, My HomeComm, Web Pages, Calendar, Forum, Notice, Postcard and Web Pal by using the same password. The Password can be obtained by subscribing to the HomeComm services. Please click here to subscribe to the HomeComm services.

What if I forget my password?
Click on the 'Change Password' button.

What if I want to change my User Profile? - Function?
Click on the 'Change User Profile' button.

What if I want to change my Secret Question
Click on the 'Change Secret Question' button.

How can I create my own 'Chat Room'?
Currently , Users are not allowed to create their Chat Room. HomeComm will pre-name the topics to the 'Chat Room'. However, HomeComm will be allowing Users to create their own Chat Room in the near future.

How can I create my own 'Special Room'?
Users can create their own 'Special Room' at the national, state or community level. The public can also join in the discussion in the Special Room. This will give greater exposure and coverage to Users hosting a Special Room.


However, they will be charged for this service. The charges will also vary depending on the level they choose to create the 'Special Room' because of the different exposure received at the different levels. Please click here for the charges.


To create a 'Special Room in Malaysia' at the national level, please click on the form at the national level Chat page and fill in the form which comes up.


To create a 'Special Room in Selangor' at the Selangor level, please click on the form at the state level Chat page and fill in the form which comes up.


To create a 'Special Room in Subang Jaya' at the Subang Jaya level, please click on the form at the community level Chat page and fill in the form which comes up.

How can I enter and join a discussion in a particular 'Chat Room'?
Users can enter and join a discussion in a particular 'Chat Room' at the national, state or community level by clicking on the particular 'Chat Room' at the relevant page i.e. national, state or community page.


How can I enter and join in a discussion in a particular 'Special Chat Room'? Users can enter and join a discussion in a particular 'Special Chat Room' at the national, state or community level by clicking on the particular 'Special Chat Room' at the relevant page i.e. national, state or community page.

How can I send a message in a discussion?
Users can send a message in a discussion by typing the text in the message entry box or space given and then clicking on 'Send/Refresh'. If the User wishes to delete the message, click on 'Clear'.

How can I send a message to a particular person in a discussion?
If the User wishes to send a message to a particular person in the Chat Room or Special Chat Room, click on the name of the person in the Name List. Then enter the text of the message in the message entry box or space together with the object person's name. The User should then click on Send/Refresh.

How can I send a private message to a particular person in a discussion?
If the User wishes to send a private message to a particular person in the Chat Room or Special Chat Room, click on the name of the person in the Name List. Then click on 'Private Object' at the bottom of the Chat page. The User should then enter the text of the message in the message entry box or space together with the object person's name. Then click on Send/Refresh. The message will be prefaced by the word 'whispers' to indicate that this is a private message to that particular person only.

How can I send a message to myself in a discussion?
If the User wishes to send a message to himself/herself in the Chat Room or Special Chat Room, click his/her own name in the Name List. Then enter the text of the message in the message entry box or space. The User should then click on Send/Refresh. The message will be prefaced by the word 'murmurs' to indicate that this is a message to himself/herself.

How can I just display the text sent by myself and the text targeted to me on the Chat screen?
Click on 'Only to me' at the bottom of the chat page. This will only display the text sent by the User and text targeted to the User only and block out other messages.

How can I just display the text sent by myself and the text targeted to me by a particular person on the Chat screen?
Click on the name of the particular person in the Name List. Click on 'Only to me' at the bottom of the chat page. This will only display the text sent by the User and text targeted to the User by that particular person only and block out other messages.


How can I just display the text sent by myself and the text targeted to me and the public on the Chat screen?
Click on 'To Me & Public' at the bottom of the chat page. This will only display the text sent by the User and text targeted to the User and the public.

How can I just display the text sent by myself and the text targeted to me and the public by a particular person on the Chat screen?
Click on the particular person's name in the Name List. Click on 'To Me & Public' at the bottom of the chat page. This will only display the text sent by the User and text targeted to the User and the public by that particular person.

How can I maintain my message in the message entry box after I have sent the message?
Click on 'Auto clear' to maintain the message in the message entry box after the User has sent the message.

How can I change the colour of my text?
Users can change the colour of the text by selecting on the chosen colour at the bottom of the Chat page. Example of colours are blue, red, green, etc. ·

How can I add an expression to my text?
Users can add an expression to their text by selecting on the chosen expression at the bottom of the Chat page. Example of expressions are amaze, confuse, cough, etc.

How can I add a sign to my text?
Users can add a sign to their text by selecting on the chosen sign at the bottom of the Chat page. Examples of signs are computer, bell, arrow, etc.

How can I add a trick to my text?
Users can obtain this facility by gaining points. Points are accumulated as the User uses the HomeComm Chat. The longer the User uses the HomeComm Chat, the more points the User accumulates which gives the User more 'trick' facilities.

The User can add tricks to their text by selecting on the chosen trick at the bottom of the Chat page. Examples of tricks are bold, italic, underline, etc.

How can I see the profile of some other person in the Chat Room?
Click on the name of the person in the Name List, then click on 'View Profile' at the bottom of the Chat Page. The User should the click on 'Action' to obtain the targeted person's profile.

Log out / Exit Chat Room
Click 'Exit Chat Room' to logout and exit from the HomeComm Chat services.
