The ARL Group of Companies (ARL) started
with the formation of its holding company, ARL Associates
Sdn. Bhd. (ARLA), in 1991. It is a 100% Malaysian Bumiputra
controlled group of companies, initially involving itself
in business 'turn around' development and new business
ventures. From such humble beginnings, the Group has rapidly
evolved into an innovative organization committed to excellence
in all its business activities.
ARL's present expertise lies in their
ability to develop and manage new projects, right from
the conceptualization stage to arrangement of financing,
construction and commissioning, and even up to the level
of operations and maintenance. The establishment of ARL
Tenaga Sdn. Bhd. (ARLT) and ARL
Janakuasa Letrik Sdn. Bhd. (ARLJL) can see this,
which is currently the mainstream business for ARL.
ARLT is a 50 MW Independent Power Plant
in Kota Kinabalu and ARLJL provides the operations and
maintenance services for the power plant. To date, ARLT
has procured a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement with Sabah
Electricity Sdn. Bhd. The power plant is currently in
its seventh year of the Power Purchase Agreement.
ARL HomeComm Sdn. Bhd.
(ARLHC) is the latest brainchild of ARL. ARLHC
is a wholly owned subsidiary of ARLA, the holding company.
ARLHC is a special purpose company, incorporated in 1996
to start work on a practical implementation of a Community
Multimedia Networked Services business inside and outside
the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) that will be made
available to the public at affordable costs. It is also
the company that controls and manages the operations and
development of HomeComm.
The corporate philosophy of ARL is: ' Do things in Moderation,
Don't profit on People's Misery and Customer is First'.
This philosophy is applied fervently in all of ARL business
dealings and transactions. This is because the Customer
is the reason for our being, for he pays for our costs
and our profits. If the Customer is successful, ARL is
successful. ARL should be thankful to the Customer for
giving ARL the opportunity to serve him. The Customer's
satisfaction shall be the foundation of all ARL endeavors.
