Information
Services is an important feature that allows the subscribers
to find specific information on HomeComm by looking at the
directory listing provided on the HomeComm portal or by
typing the required words based on free text search or attribute
search.
Directory
This directory is a list of information resources or contents
which is actually information of varied interests in static
webpages and dynamic webpages hosted on the HomeComm portal.
They are hyperlinks to other websites, offered to the public
and subscribers. They are information downloaded, cached,
replicated and updated regularly from local and foreign
websites and presented in attractive and user friendly webpages.
The information is provided in the form of web pages that
contain specific interests and topics and will be categorized
into content channels. A user will be able to locate information
of his or her interests by navigating through the channels
of contents in the HomeComm portal.
The areas of interests listed on the HomeComm directory
include Banking/Finance, Sports, Education, Government,
Automobiles, Travel, Hotels and Accommodations, Restaurants,
Recreation, Technology, Entertainment, Classifieds and Hobbies
Electronic Bulletin
This is similar to an electronic newspaper which HomeComm
provides to subscribers. The electronic bulletin is placed
on the front page of the HomeComm web page for residential
subscribers. In the HomeComm bulletin, depending on whether
it is the community, state or national level, certain news
and information which is intended to be highlighted will
be placed on the electronic bulletin.
It can also be placed on the front page of the subscribers
web page. The subscribers can put in any news, highlights,
advertisements or any other information which they prefer.
The purpose of having the electronic bulletin is so that
the subscribers can highlight and impress the importance
of certain news and information.
The news and information in the electronic bulletin will
be updated on a frequent basis so as to keep subscribers
informed and posted.
